LRWC Photo and Video Policy

You are welcome to take photos and/or video for personal use only. Taking professional photos or video for commercial purposes (including stock images, commercial products, published works, and other commercial purposes) is prohibited without prior authorization from the Conservancy (see below).

If your photos are for noncommercial purposes you may come to LRWC as a regular visitor (admission costs will apply; please see website for current hours and prices) and take your photos provided all the following apply:

                 1. Photos cannot be sold or published.
                 2. No tripods or monopods are permitted.

                 3. The party is not permitted to stop visitor traffic or block other visitors’ views
for extended periods in order to take photos.

                 4. The party is not permitted to disrupt Conservancy visitors, staff, or birds
                      in any way.
                 5. No special assistance shall be given (e.g. security, special access etc).

Staff members reserve the right to approach photographers on Conservancy property about their work. If photographers are not complying with the above or have not sought permission to take professional photographs of the birds or physical site, they will be asked to return their equipment to their vehicle before enjoying the rest of their visit to LRWC.

Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy frequently visits stock photography websites and other wildlife photography sources. If an animal or location is recognized as being the property of LRWC and the photographer did not have written permission from LRWC, the Conservancy reserves the right to contact both the photographer and the company representing the photographer to seek reparations.

If your photos are for commercial purposes, please contact the LRWC office; LRWC is pleased to assist photography and filming projects in conjunction with the our Mission Statement. The Conservancy is also an education facility and public attraction, and our visitors are entitled to an experience with a minimum of distraction and inconvenience. In order to accommodate all parties involved, professional photographers are asked to make appointments for a weekday, review our Photography Contract, and obtain a Photography Pass (see below).

Photography Pass

The Conservancy's unique collection of beautiful birds makes it an exciting place for photographers. To provide photographers with the access they need to capture the lighting and birds at their best, we offer special half-day photography passes.

Photographers can choose either a dawn to 12:00pm or a 12:00pm to sunset appointment at a rate of $100.00 per person/per half-day ($75.00 for Conservancy members).  Appointments are available on weekdays throughout the year.

Those with a Photography Pass receive special access to the aviaries and have great opportunities to capture images of a wide array of waterfowl.

Only one photography party is booked per half-day appointment. A maximum of three photographers are allowed per party. The fees for a photographer party of three is $300 ($100 per person/per half day).
