Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the open position of Maintenance Manager for the grounds and aviaries.
 

Maintenance Manager
LRWC is accepting applications for a Maintenance Manager for the grounds and aviaries. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and physical improvements to the aviaries and grounds.

Responsibilities include:

• Mowing, trimming, weeding, snow removal
• Maintaining landscaping and bird habitats
Maintaining aviary grounds and structures including repairs, painting, and building new enclosures
Taking on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary by the Property Manager
• Collaborating with the maintenance team to make sure the grounds and the buildings are always properly
   cared for
Performing regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools
Shoveling snow from walks, driveways, or parking lots and spreading salt in those areas
Caring for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, and trimming or
  edging around flower beds, walks, or walls

Qualifications:

• Must have prior work experience in maintaining grounds
• Ability to envision projects and follow through to completion without supervision
• Basic understanding of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
• Basic understanding of landscape design
• Be able to operate vehicles and powered maintenance equipment such as riding mowers, tractors, twin-axle
  vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, weed whackers, sod cutters, pruning saws, and other
  basic power tools
• Able to mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers 
• Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes 
• Be able to prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws 
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using
  hand or power tools 
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, planters
• Comfortable working around live birds
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Capable of performing diverse tasks simultaneously
• Ability to problem solve in the field
• Able to work outside under adverse weather conditions
• High level of professionalism
• Be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb a ladder 20 feet or higher, and perform overhead work
• A valid driver license is required

Compensation:
Compensation depends on experience. This is a full-time, year-round position.
