The mission of the Livingston Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy is to protect waterfowl and wetland habitats through research, conservation and education.
Central to the mission of LRWC is the development of a field research program that will answer critical research questions for waterfowl species and wetland habitats. LRWC seeks to create an interdisciplinary approach in which regional, national, and international field research, along with a premier captive breeding facility, will integrate to produce and maintain significant contributions to the management and conservation of waterfowl and their habitats throughout the world. Although the foundation of LRWC is deeply rooted in S. Dillon Ripley’s dedication to the preservation and conservation of rare, threatened and endangered waterfowl, LRWC also supports and conducts research efforts on species that are common but that can be used to provide answers to critical management questions or conservation issues that would benefit multiple species.
