In this program, you have the chance to conduct a hands-on investigation of LRWC's wetland. Explore native Connecticut flora and fauna and conduct scientific experiments to determine wetland health.
What is a wetland
What lives in a wetland
What factors determine wetland health
If onsite, students will collect, observe, and identify organisms living in LRWC's wetland by using collection nets, magnifying glasses, microscopes, and identification charts, gaining a better understanding of the plant and animal life found in this ecosystem. Students will then use a variety of techniques to measure the health of the water. If offsite, Conservancy staff will bring the wetland to your classroom with a "wetland in a pail!"
